Welcome to my little corner of the World Wide Web.  It is obvious that there is not a lot of content available here.  (I hope you brought your own provisions. 😎)  Clearly this site is a “work in progress.”

A large portion of the content here, currently, is political.  (I hope this percentage of political posts changes as time passes.  If only because politics, though important, is not the most important way–nor the most beneficial–we humans can interact.)  Thus, I want to announce something up-front.  I am far, far less motivated by a desire to prove that “I am right and you are wrong” than I am motivated by this:  I want each of us, through polite and respectful debate, discourse, and discussion, to work towards discerning what is Right…so that we each can align ourselves, as individuals, with that Right-ness.  Even if the “Right-ness” is an idea, a notion, or an opinion which could be characterized as “Left-leaning.”

I firmly believe that debate can be both passionate and politely respectful; it can be both passionate and respectfully polite.  Yes, it takes effort.  I get that.  Still, please consider something, and please then use it as fuel to power your efforts to remain polite:  emotions aren’t evidence–and passions aren’t proof–of Truth.

If what motivates you is something like what is lampooned by the xkcd.com cartoon shown below, then please do not trouble me with your comments.  I moderate every comment anyone writes before it is visible.  If you are the sort of individual who resorts to, or otherwise relies upon, ad hominem attacks rather than rational/reasoned arguments, I will simply delete your comment without any hesitation.  In this regard, I do not care whether you “lean Left” or “lean Right.”  That is, if your comment exposes you as a BLM or Antifa “Social Justice Warrior” or exposes you as a Tiki-Torch temper-tantrum type of Alt-Right “white supremacist,” I will not interact with you.  Period.

You never get a second chance to make a first impression.  More to the point, I no longer have the capacity to argue with people who behave like children, like adolescents, or like thugs.  I’ve achieved saturation in that regard.  My interactions with individuals on Facebook years ago (back when I still had a now-deleted “Fakebook” account) pretty much burned-through my lifetime supply of shielding against the sort of “echo-chamber” groupthink found in abundance there.

I want this site, which I own, manage, and control, to be a part of The Arena of Ideas.  I do not want this site to devolve into any sort of flame-war/pissing contest.  If that is the sort of arena you seek, please go elsewhere to indulge your appetites.  I beg you.  Go elsewhere.  You’ll find here little sustenance for your unsavory appetite(s).
